Installing a commercial laundry is a specialist business, best left to the professionals.
A good illustration of this was the difficulties encountered by David Jenkins when he wanted to expand his care home, Fenland Lodge, near Ely in Cambridgeshire, which persuaded him to call in the east of Englands largest commercial laundry system supplier, Clean Machine.
TOTAL CARE
David knew that when he went from 18 to 42 beds, he would need a larger laundry. However, there were difficulties with his electricity and gas supplies. This, coupled with the local byelaws and Care Home 2000 regulations, meant that David felt unable to handle the administrative detail himself. Clean Machine liaised with the plumbing and electrical contractors to ensure that services were upgraded and in the correct location, even obtaining permission from the local water supply company to install the washers. Proposals included branded equipment of the correct capacity and with a medical specification to ensure Fenland Lodges compliance with Care Home 2000 guidelines.
Such attention to detail is what Clean Machine calls Total Care. It means that the Company took care of all aspects of installing and maintaining the laundry at Fenland Lodge leaving David and his staff to get on with the washing! The new laundry is now equipped with two Ipso 10kg high spin washers fitted with medical specification. These are compact on the outside with a high capacity drum and are renowned throughout the industry for their reliability. These were matched with two ADC 25lb gas tumble dryers to minimise running costs. David Jenkins was delighted with his completed installation, saying: I never realised upgrading a laundry could be so complex. Thankfully, Clean Machine took the administrative burden away from me
BEST ADVICE
At all stages of the laundry project, Clean Machine offered Fenland Lodge what it calls Best Advice. Clean Machine General Manager, Kevin Taylor, explains the thinking behind it: Best Advice means an honest, up-front approach with our proposals. We try to put ourselves in the customers shoes and offer advice based on achieving their objectives in the most cost-effective manner. Were seeking to establish long term relationships with our clientele and that contrasts starkly with many distributors today who are merely content to sell boxes.
