With over 300 bedrooms, the Crowne Plaza in Cambridge is one of the largest hotels in East Anglia.
It generates nearly 500 tonnes of washing annually, keeping its guests in clean towels and crisp, fresh sheets. Hardly surprising, then that they turned to Mieles leading Professional Partner, Clean Machine, for advice on their new laundry.
Clean Machine specified five washers, four tumble dryers and a rotary ironer all Miele equipment – but only after first carefully assessing the hotels needs and producing a detailed and fully costed plan that covered the provision of essential services and layout of the facility. Clean Machine even applied to the local water authority on Crowne Plazas behalf for permission to connect the washers to the mains supply.

Such attention to detail is part of Clean Machine Total Care service, which is evident at every stage of a laundry project be it large and small. All the equipment was installed and commissioned by Clean Machine engineers, a part of the service that many other operators are content to sub-contract. The Miele equipment is looked after on a day-to-day basis by Clean Machine to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
Commenting on the new facility, Crowne Plazas housekeeper, Joanne Whitehead, said: Clean Machine took care of everything even down to the smallest detail. We are really pleased with the new laundry. If anything does go wrong, we know that Clean Machine will put it right before it becomes a real problem.
